The tournaments have started and we are very excited about our prospects in 2016.
We're beginning with the Sailfish Club Gold Cup in Palm Beach, Florida. The Gold Cup was founded in 1972 by John Rybovich to test the skills of anglers catching and releasing sailfish off the east coast of Florida. The Gold Cup is a perpetual trophy maintained by the Sailfish Club and is one of the most coveted prizes in competitive sport fishing.
The Sailfish Cold Cup's second day and many Sailfish and Mahi are being caught. There are 24 boats angling from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The Miss Budweiser caught 6 Sailfish and 10 Mahi, it was a very nice fishing day. Although the weather cooled off and you definitely needed your sea legs, it is a close tournament now and we have two more days to go.
The tournament's third day is stunning, 68° at 10:30 AM. The Miss Budweiser landed our first sailfish an hour ago. Today, the final day of the tournament is another gray day with tough seas but Miss Budweiser's totals are: 6 out of 13 sails were caught and released, 3 Cobia were caught, the largest being 35 pounds, and 6 Mahi were caught.
Let’s go fishing! January and February are great for Sailfish.
